Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under the direction of the manager, the Transplant Program Specialist is responsible for the review and update of guidelines, protocols, and processes within the business unit. Gathers and tracks data and benchmarks to support the service line PI initiatives. Responsible for the maintenance of department audits, scorecards, dashboards. Participates in performance improvement projects. Assists in the preparation for readiness for regulatory surveys. Performs data management, analysis, utilization and other related functions.
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing or related field
A Current California Registered Nurse License
A Current BLS
Minimum 3 (three) years experience in Intensive Care Unit/Liver Transplantation
At least 2 years of Quality improvement experience within a healthcare setting
Excellent skill in abstracting complex data from multiple database software (sometimes into a reports and/or spreadsheet format)
Must have deep understanding about the relationship of database technologies; knowledge of database design a plus
Progressive database development experience required
Extensive knowledge of PC applications, particularly relational databases and spreadsheets, required
Knowledge of application programs used in the department (e.g., SAS, SPSS, MS Access….).
Strong initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a team environment; ability to work in a changing environment and handle multiple tasks
Full command (verbal and written) of the English language
Understand data flow, structure, and relationships of various pieces of data
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Must be able to perform assigned duties in a demanding work environment
