Summary of Essential Job Duties:

Cedars-Sinai's Office of Graduate Research Education is seeking a Student Financial Services Administrator to join their team.

This individual will serve as the initial contact for the Student Financial Services Office providing professional and positive customer service. Assist students with questions, paperwork, requirements, as they relate to financial aid and student receivables. This employee will work closely with the coordinators of each specific degree-granting program, the finance department, the Directors of the PhD and MS programs, MIR, and potentially external financial entities for Financial Aid in the future.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and review all procedures and policies related to student finances/tuition. Recommends changes in procedures in connection to new or revised policies.

Provides oversight to all areas involving student finances and financial aid including verification.

Provides information and assists students with student-related functions through the main Student Financial Services phone line, email address and any walk-in customers. Will provide guidance to both prospective and current students through the entire financial aid process. Interacts face-to-face with many students

Determines the customer's individual needs: provides appropriate forms, schedules appointments with specialists, refers to appropriate departments.

Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, a variety of financial enrollment related information to students and parents. Explains aid programs, application procedures and eligibility criteria. Responds to questions regarding billing, financial aid, payment deadlines, tuition rate, and 1098T forms.

Receives and review large volumes of paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Prepares student tiles for verification and packaging review. 1-landles confidential material and communications.

Sorts incoming mail. Receives all incoming monies including tuition payments, tax revenue, and outstanding invoices.

Maintains the Student Financial Services website and student portals.

Processes all mailings, both electronically and paper.

Qualification Requirements/Preferences:

Bachelors Degree required.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 - 3 years related work experience required, with Student Accounts/Bursar/Business Officer experience preferred

Preferably 3 - 5 years of administrative/accounting experience.

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)

Able to perform moderate lifting. Able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to read papers and online documents. Able to operate standard office equipment. Able to exercise physical ability and perspective acuity to satisfactorily perform essential job functions.
