Cedars-Sinai Sterile Proc Tech I- Afternoon Shift in Los Angeles, California

Summary of Essential Job Duties: Under direct supervision, the Sterile Processing Tech I will be responsible for decontamination and assembly of equipment, instruments and sterilization of supplies. Works closely with user departments for supplies and equipment and maintains established inventory levels of sterile instrumentation/supplies. Inspects and identifies instruments needing repair by following established repair procedures. Shows potential in quality control/assurance. Performs related duties as required. Educational Requirements:

•Education: High School diploma or GED

•Minimum Experience: May be a new grad/novice with up to one (1) year of Sterile Processing experience including, decontamination, wrapping, sterilization and infection control of basic instrumentation.

•Preferred Licenses/Certification: Valid Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

•Use of independent judgment and initiative within established policies and procedures.

•Familiarity and experience in the following areas: o Technical competency in four (4) basic operational services (General Surgery/GYN/ENT/Plastics) o Understanding/knowledge of workflow principles and infection control. o Application of sterilization principles and operation of steam sterilizers. o Knowledge of surgical instruments. o Knowledge of patient care equipment and its use.
