Cedars-Sinai Research Associate I in Los Angeles, California

The Lu laboratory in the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases is looking for a Research Associate I to join its group. Main duties will be to assist the PI, faculty and lab personnel in performing routine basic molecular, cellular and biochemical experiments. The Research Associate I is expected to perform a variety of laboratory tasks and assignments which include but are not limited to the following: RNA isolation, real-time PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitaion, western blotting transfection, promoter activity assays, data collection and analysis, maintain reagent and chemical inventory. Are expected to perform basic animal husbandry and surgical procedures such as genotyping, sample collection and maintenance of computerized animal records. Attend regular meetings with PI and faculty to discuss experimental design and results. Participate and present research data in regularly scheduled lab meetings.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in biological sciences

Experience:

Prefer candidate with 1-2 years experience.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols, oral and written.Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols.

Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.

Working knowledge of database management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software.

Must possess computer skills to include, but not limited to, Excel and Word

Physical Demands:

Ability to perform moderate lifting, sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to operate standard office equipment, exercise physical ability and satisfactorily perform essential job functions
