We have an opening for a Research Associate in the Hong Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The Hong Laboratory is focused on the membrane microdomain organization and function in cardiac cells, and in development of new biomarkers and therapeutics of failing hearts. We are looking for an exceptional individual who wants to work in a highly supportive research environment and be involved in high impact research projects. Experience in heart research, or molecular biology, or biochemistry, or mouse husbandry and surgery is beneficial. However, individual characteristics and commitment to academic research will be prioritized over specific heart research experience.
The lab is looking to recruit a Research Associate that will will work independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists. The Research Associate will participate in research activities involving all aspects of the research process, to include, but not limited to: investigation, technical, testing/validation of results, and report findings. The Research Associate will perform a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of laboratory research projects, including bench experiments and mouse husbandry.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in biological sciences preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other Windows-based software.
Understanding of general research objectives. Familiar with routine research procedures, experimental protocols, and overall lab organization. Applicant must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Must have superior interpersonal, communication and organization skills and the ability to work across company disciplines and functional units, and computer application experience. Must possess computer skills to include, but not limited to, Excel and Word. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and attention to details.
