Summary of Essential Job Duties: The Registered Nurse, Clinical III as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Nurse III makes clinical judgments and carries out related nursing interventions using the nursing process without supervision. She/he demonstrates critical thinking performance ability in the coordination, implementation and documentation of patient care. And consistently perform according to the standards of the profession. The Clinical Nurse III assumes ultimate responsibility accountability in managing her/his patient care and in assisting others in the management of patient care. She/he provides nursing care consistent with Nursing standards of care/practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care. The Plan for provision of care to patients, CSMC code of conduct, the performance improvement plan in the patient education plan a professional organization standard. The clinical Nurse III maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient's populations and patients and families with diverse cultural backgrounds. She/he can identify safety concerns and institute measures in the neonatal infant, toddler, preschooler, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patient populations. Must be available to work every other weekend.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
California State RN license required
Certified in BLS, ACLS and PALS within 6 months
Specialty Certification required within 1 year of hire(12 months)
3+ years PICU experience.
Previous Charge Nurse experiences a plus.
Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned clinical nurse level and area.
Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
Meets clinical criteria and protocol for Clinical Nurse assigned level.
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting. standing, walking)
The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
