Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The Clinical Nurse IV (CNIV), is an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge and expertise in a specialty as well as general nursing. The CN IV consistently demonstrates excellence in all areas of nursing practice including nursing care delivery, staff education, research, and collaboration. The CNIV manages complex, unpredictable patient care situations and is a nursing leader. She/he serves as a resource to the nursing staff, the unit, the organization, and the community to promote the advancement of nursing.
The scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Nursing job duties are to meet the Nurse Practice Act (state law that protects patients by promoting safe, competent nursing practices), Title 22 (Health and Safety codes), The Joint Commission (develops performance standards and accredits programs for hospitals and other healthcare-related organizations) and the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care and the Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements.
BSN degree required
Valid California Registered Nurse License, ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced EFM, and intravenous therapy.
5+ years experience in Labor and Delivery
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Must have physical ability and perspective acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct aid indirect patient care functions. Must be able to perform assigned duties in a demanding work environment
