Cedars-Sinai Registered Nurse II, OR - 12Hr, FT Days in Los Angeles, California

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

A Clinical Nurse II (CN II) is a competent clinician who provides nursing care in a skilled and effective manner. Utilizing appropriate decision making skills exhibits competence in the technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to independently and safely manage routine patient assignment. The Clinical Nurse II establishes a plan of care, sets goals, determines priorities, and provides care within established standards of practice.

Promotion to CN II is automatic after completion of one (1) year of clinical experience and a satisfactory performance appraisal at a CN I level (if CSMC employee) and new hires with a minimum of one (1) year acute care experience in their specialty.

The scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Nursing job duties are to meet the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, The Joint Commission and the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care and the Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree Science in Nursing (state accredited program)

License/Certification

Requirements:

California State RN License - Upon Hire

BCLS Certification - Upon Hire

Other Competencies, as required by your specialty unit (ex. ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring) - 1 Year

Experience:

1 Year - For external hires, acute care experience in their specialty for new hires. Promotion to Clinical Nurse II is automatic after completion of one (1) year of clinical experience and a satisfactory performance appraisal at a Clinical Nurse I level.
