Cedars Sinai department of 8NE, Neuro/Spine Surgery has current positions available for Registered Nurse III, 12hrs shifts, 7:00pm - 7:30am

There are two 24-bed surgical units located on the east and west side of the 8 North Tower that operate on a 24 hour basis with a combined average daily census of

  1. 8 North also has 16 deluxe rooms. When not needed for patients on our regular service line, these rooms are available for any patient, upon request, for an additional fee regardless of the diagnosis. The type of patients most frequently admitted to this unit are those in need of, or have had the following procedures: 8 North East: Craniotomies, Neuro Trauma, Blunt Head Trauma, Subdural Hematoma, Lumbar Drain, Brain tumor, Seizures and Stroke.

A Registered Nurse III (CN III), is a proficient and experienced clinician who provides nursing efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills as well as critical thinking ability. A RN III possesses an in depth knowledge in all aspects of nursing care for a specific unit patient population and consistently applies specialized knowledge and skills in the management of nursing care for individual or groups of patients and their families. A RN III is regarded as a resource for staff on patient care issues.

Educational, License, Certification and Other Requirements:

  • B.S.N. from an accredited school of nursing is preferred.

  • Current and valid registered nurse license from the State of California.

  • Current and valid Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate from the American Heart Association.

  • Specialty Certification is preferred.

  • Must possess minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills and applicable to individual job duties and expectations, employee must demonstrate competency in use of the applications indicated on the competency checklist.

  • Full command (written and verbal) of the English Language.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 year experience e as RN in acute care setting preferably in specialty. NOTE: (minimum 1 year recent acute RN experience will be considered for Registered Nurse II)

  • Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.

  • Meets clinical criteria and protocol for Clinical Nurse assigned level.

Physical Demands:

•Full body motion

•Full sensory response (vision, speech, hearing, smell, touch)

•Manual finger dexterity and fine motor skills with eye-hand coordination

•Frequent standing, walking, twisting (trunk, neck), bending (waist), flexing/extending/stretching (extremities and trunk)

•Occasional sitting, gripping/grasping, reaching below shoulder level, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, squatting

•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull at least 100 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds
