Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Development (Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute) in Community Relations and Development, position is responsible for the for identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors for all assigned programs and services. As part of this responsibility, the Principle Gifts Officer will work in close collaboration with fellow gift officers, volunteers, faculty, and medical center leadership in planning and implementation of programs and events.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
BS/BA degree or equivalent job experience preferred
Minimum of five years of development experience
5-7 years as a front line gift officer
Demonstrated success, thorough knowledge and understanding of best practices in healthcare/research fundraising.
Well-delivered interpersonal skills including the ability to function well in a multiple-team environment and interact effectively with all levels of staff, including executive level clients
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of community/philanthropic resources
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Computer skills: experience with database management, word-processing and other electronic means of communication and data management
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Ability to navigate a standard office environment in a hospital setting
