Job Posting: The Cedars-Sinai F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute (IBIRI) is searching for a Research Postdoc. IBIRI is a multidisciplinary basic, translational and clinical research program devoted to Inflammation Bowel Diseases. Under the direction of Dr. Dermont McGovern, the institute is seeking for a talented and highly motivated candidate to joint the group as a Postdoctoral Scientist. Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientist, the Research Fellow will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes and interprets data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Not responsible for generating grant funds.
•Assist in preparation of grant proposals by providing bio informatics content and analysis. descriptions of analytic approaches
•Publish and present research as author or ea-author
•Develop. adapt and implement novel statistical algorithms and pipelines for data analyses of NGS and other OMICS data sets
•Utilize various genomics and bioinformatics analytic tools to identify causal mechanisms underlying IBD
•Communication or bioinformatics analyses to Translational (i.e. omics Group. biologists. clinicians and national collaborators
•Designs. conducts and collaborates on new and established research projects
•Provide a statistical support in collaboration with other research staff
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements;
Doctorate (MD. PhD. VMD or DDS) in area directly related to field of specialization.
Independently works on research projects designed by a mentor (typically the ill within an area of specialization. Acquires thorough technical and theoretical knowledge or research project and objectives during one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment. Demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental pm:cols and procedures, including detailed data collection, and analysis and operation and maintenance of specialized equipment. Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance Of specialized equipment.
Ability to stand during laboratory procedures and bench work, use of computer. Able to perform moderate lifting. Ale to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to exercise physical ability and prospective acuity to satisfactorily perform essential job functions.
