Cedars-Sinai Postdoctoral Scientist - Image Processing and Computer Vision in Los Angeles, California

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

The Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Program is a medical imaging research and software development group within the Department of Medicine. The Postdoctoral Scientist works under the supervision and mentorship of the AIM Principal Investigator. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Scientist will participate in all aspects of the designated study, which aims to develop novel methods for fully automated software analysis of fast Myocardial Perfusion SPECT (MPS). The individual will work independently, but under the direction of the Mentor/Principal Investigator and in close collaboration with other scientists, programmers, and physicians.

The individual will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator/Mentor and in cooperation with other scientists, programmers and physicians.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and execution of established research projects to support the NIH project objectives under the guidance of the Principal Investigator

  • Development and testing of new image processing and machine learning software methods

  • Demonstration of current knowledge of new research techniques and protocols by reading scientific literature and attending scientific meetings

  • Presentation of research results at scientific meetings

  • Publication of results in peer-reviewed journals as author and co-author

  • Contribution to preparation of new grant proposals/studies as needed.



PhD in Computer Science or related field

  • Proficiency in C++ programming

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio

  • Proficiency in mathematics and 3D geometry

  • Experience in image processing, interactive imaging applications and/or computer vision

  • Basic system administration skills (Windows, and/or Mac OS X)

  • 4+ years of programming experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
