Patient Services Representative - Temporary Requisition # 29835

The Patient Services Representative (PSR), following established practices, policies, and guidelines, provides clerical and administrative support/duties in the licensed clinics at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. This is a Temporary assignment supporting the Neurosurgery clinic at Cedars-Sinai.

Job responsibilities to include, not limited to:

  • answering and triaging incoming calls to the appropriate individuals or department

  • scheduling patients with ancillary and/or specialty providers

  • initiate and follow up with insurance companies to obtain precertification/authorization prior to services being scheduled

  • create/review/update patient demographics and insurance information

  • prepare clinic day charts

  • handle patient/MD correspondence

  • check messages daily

This is a Temporary position and assignment will conclude on or before 10/31/2018, or if needed, extended to an agreed upon date that will be filed with HR.

Qualification Requirements/Preferences:

Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least two (2) years college coursework preferred.

  • Medical Terminology coursework highly preferred.

Physical Demands: (e.g. lifting, standing, walking)

  • Standard physical requirements for routine administrative responsibilities carried out at desk.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
