Our staff includes a full contingent of professionals ready to serve patients’ needs – from arranging appointments with specialists and helping sort out insurance issues, to performing complex liver transplant surgeries and managing follow-up care.

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

Responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of work up and care for Post Liver Transplant patients throughout the continuation of services – from initial referral to follow up care. Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs for the patients. Participates in the development of guidelines, protocols, pathways and other performance improvement activities. Serves as a patient advocate throughout the transplant/surgical process. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative and acute care through discharge in addition to outpatient management. The NP serves as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences.

Qualification Requirements/Preferences:

Master or Nursing Degree Required

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.
• National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Experience:

Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.

Minimum of 2 (two) years of RN experience in acute care.

ICU experience preferred

Minimum of 3 years experience as a staff nurse.

Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)

Must be able to perform assigned duties in a demanding work environment. Perceptive acuity and physical ability to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
