Cedars-Sinai MRI Technologist - The Angeles Clinic in Los Angeles, California
This employee provides the essential service of generating Magnetic Resonance Images of the body for diagnostic purposes with diagnostic imaging equipment, as directed by Radiologists, in accordance with the company policies and procedure manuals.
Performs all exams related to MRI with skill, accuracy and in a timely manner.
Coordinates all work done in the area surrounding MRI scanner.
Transports patients into the MRI scan room.
Prepares patients for their test.
Reviews MRI consent form.
Assures patient brings no ferrous objects into the scan room.
Assures absence of medical conditions or implant and devices that may make the MRI test contraindicated.
Assures patient privacy at all times.
Attends to patient health care while patient is in the Department.
Assists in scheduling.
Assures patient records are private and secure at all times.
Authorizes any work to be done on the MRI scanner, as directed by Management.
Maintains and sanitizes room, equipment and coils on a daily basis.
Maintains a safe workplace free of clutter.
Operates the MRI equipment using proper MRI safety procedures.
Evacuates patient properly in case of magnet quench.
Quenches magnet properly when required.
Monitors cryogen levels and reports to Safety Officer when they are low.
Follows all Material Safety Data Sheet procedures in the event of a cryogen quench.
Monitor all area for all persons not MRI screened.
Keeps on the cutting edge of technique with improvement of personal qualification through education programs, conferences, workshops and additional reading materials. Obtains appropriate CME to maintain ACR requirements for MRI.
Observes and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Completion of course in Radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists required.
Current certification with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists Magnetitic Resonance Imaging (AARTMR) required.
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of California required.
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross
Fluoroscopy license and GE 1.5HDX experience with a strong musculoskeletal background preferred.
2 years’ experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
