What will you be doing in this role?
Performs specialized/ advanced health information
activities necessary to organize, maintain and use electronic and paper patient
health records. Positions at this level have high customer service, strong
analytic, problem solving skills and are able to interpret and explain CSMC
policy and external requirements related to chart documentation, privacy and
release of information. Specific job responsibilities are based on the service
unit assigned and include: release of information (ROI) to customers and
patients of the medical center, data integrity analysis and resolution (e.g.,
duplicate MRNs), and physicians record incompletion / deficiency and/or
physician suspensions. Expert computer skills to navigate and query multiple
electronic record systems and associated software.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GEDrequired. AA degree preferred
3-4 years’ experience in medicalrecords/HID or related field, required
Strong knowledge of medicalterminology required
Attention to detail, advancedproblem solving, and analytical skills required
Demonstrated proficiency at anintermediate level in Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Knowledge of hospital computersystems and EMRs required.
Skills/experience we're seeking:
AA degree preferred
RHIT or other related credential,preferred
Basic knowledge of ICD-10 preferred
Knowledge of hospital computersystems and EMRs, preferred
Knowledge of Epic system, preferred
Detailed knowledge of the medicalrecord content and chart organization
Detailed knowledge of documentationand privacy regulatory standards
Strong customer service andcommunication skills. English language proficiency, both written andspoken
Understanding of scanning processesand experience scanning documents
Strong data analysis and researchskills for error corrections, preferred
