In this role, you will define and execute Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute's (CSKJI) growth strategy and be responsible for growth, expansion, and strategic planning. The Director, Business Development will collaborate with various stakeholders to support Kerlan- Jobe's business development objectives. As the Director of Business Development, you will also represent CSKJI at all levels of sports organizations from high school, amateur leagues to professional teams.

The CSKJI Business Development leader is responsible for the growth, development and management of CSKJI's business initiatives and programs such as Sports Medicine, Sports Team provider contracts and relationships, and Academic and Research initiatives.
In this role, the incumbent will define and execute the overall CSKJI growth strategy and will be responsible for identifying MD recruitment needs, evaluating new market opportunities and partner relationships, and optimizing cost and performance of financial growth and strategic planning. Works collaboratively and often under the direction of internal, corporate stakeholders to establish and develop successful growth initiatives designed to support sports medicine business development objectives for financial growth. One will network and represent CSKJI interest at all levels of sports organizations from high school, amateur leagues to professional sports teams.
As a member of the CSKJI team, the CSKJI Sports Medicine Business Development leader represents CSKJI in various hospital/clinical meetings, meets with key community members and boards to best understand community and stakeholder needs, and works to strategically align service offerings appropriately. Responsible for overall CSKJI strategic planning and partnerships, driving market share and revenue growth, quality and clinical excellence, and development and expansion of appropriate clinical programs. Drives organizational culture thru deliberate, consistent and clear communication of vision, goal setting that engages all levels of the organization and aligns with vision, and recognition of goal completion and overall service excellence in appropriate manners to reinforce and reward behaviors and results that drive success. Mentor staff in both clinical and non-clinical skills to promote culture of growth and continuous improvement; improving employee engagement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•Define, develop and execute growth strategy
•Evaluate new business opportunities
•Proactively target prospective partnerships and establish/develop business relationships
•Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships and apply a consultative approach to create new business relationships or renew existing agreements to achieve revenue growth targets
•Collaborate with corporate leadership to design and support business development objectives
•Foster cross-practice awareness and collaborate to optimize business opportunities
•Network with sports industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and social networking sites to promote CSKJI and their clients as well as to build new business relationships
•Identify physician recruitment and other business needs
•Oversee the development of new clinical and outreach program. Develop and manage Sports Team physician contracting
•Ensure that the Academic and Research Programs are working in concert with the Cedars-Sinai Dept of Orthopaedics
•Oversee the research funding opportunities
•Partner with Legal Department for development, negotiation, execution and management of contracts
Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration, Sports Business Development required
Master's in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
7 years work experience in Sports Agency, Sports Medicine; Prior experience as a Physical Therapist or in Orthopedics preferred
5 years legal experience handling and managing contracts and deal negotiations preferred
