Cedars-Sinai Congenital/Pediatric Sonographer in Los Angeles, California

The Pediatric/Congenital Heart Specialty Sonographer assists in all procedures performed in the Non-Invasive Cardiac ECHO Laboratory. Provides support to outpatient and inpatient services, operating suite and cardiac catheterization lab for efficient operations. Provides a safe patient care environment. Has responsibility and accountability for recording 2D Dimensional ECHO/Doppler/Color Flow examinations using ultrasound equipment to provide data for diagnosis of heart ailments. Consistently demonstrates proficiency in the performance of all procedures and competency in the use of all related ultrasound equipment and computers. Is an active participant in departmental and performance improvement activities and mentors other staff. Collects/documents data to meet clinical, financial and regulatory requirements. Available 24 hour/day if scheduled for on call activities.

Experience:

Current RDCS in Pediatric and/or Adult.

Minimum of 3 years experience as a sonographer-preferred

Relevant clinical experience for population served-preferred

Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate all aspects of patient care

Good judgement and application of critical thinking skills

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal communication, with persons of various cultural and educational backgrounds.

Computer proficiency.

Educational Requirements:

Graduated from a 2 year accredited Ultrasound School

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

BLS Certified - Must be from American Heart Association

Physical Demands:

Must have the physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
