Cedars-Sinai Clinical Research Coordinator III in Los Angeles, California

Summary:

The Cedars-Sinai F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute (IBIRI) is searching for a Clinical Research Coordinator III (CRAIII). IBIRI is a multidisciplinary basic, translational, and clinical research program devoted to Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Under the direction of Dr. Dermot McGovern, the institute is seeking for a talented and highly motivated candidate to join the translational group as a CRAIII. The translational group focuses on research (non-clinical trials) studies.

The CRAIII works independently providing study coordination including screening of potential patients for protocol eligibility, presenting non-medical trial concepts and details, and participating in the informed consent process.

Responsible for oversight of all studies with the group and the assignment of studies to clinical research personnel within the group, and supervision and training of other coordinators.

Reviews family pedigrees for future study participation.

Develop standard operating procedures for research subject recruitment and informed consent/assent for multiple research projects and appropriate to a broad array of environments, including outpatient clinics, inpatient room, off-site events such as health fairs, home visits, and others.

Scheduling of patients for research visits and procedures.

Maintains and responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting including timely response to sponsor queries.

Responsible for compiling and reporting on each study, including information related to protocol activity, accrual data, workload, and other research information; present this information at regular research staff meetings.

Documents all required subject and research related data in the research database.

Liaison between principal investigators and staff.

Ensure clinical compliance when conducting research in clinics.

Conducts home visits to reach participants who are unable to travel to Cedars-Sinai.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Must possess proficient computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Work hours may vary/work weekends as necessary

Required to commute/travel for home visits and/or health fairs.

Physical Demands:

Able to perform moderate lifting.

Able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.

Able to read papers and online documents.

Able to operate standard office equipment.

Able to exercise physical ability and perspective acuity to satisfactorily perform essential job functions.

Education:

Bachelors Degree

License/Certification/Registration:

Valid CA Driver’s License and liability (minimum) car insurance

Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or Certified Phlebotomy II certification

ACRP/SoCRA (or equivalent) certification preferred

Experience:

Five (5) years minimum of directly related experience.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in applicable medical genetics setting desired.
