Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Functioning under the general supervision of the Service Line Manager and a licensed caregiver, the Clinical Care Associate
(CCA) provides clinical and administrative support to nurses, physicians and allied health professionals (Clinicians) working in the hospital licensed clinics. Functions may include patient interview, data collection, documentation in the medical record, exam room set-up, cleaning and preparation, ordering/stocking of medical supplies, general administrative support, and other duties as assigned. The CCA may also perform non-invasive routine technical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, surgeon or podiatrist who is on the premesis. The Clinical Care Associate functions within his/her scope of education/ certification not to exceed what is permitted by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center policies, procedures and guidelines.
•High school diploma or GED.
•Graduate of a Medical Assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
•Two years of previous medical office or clinic experience required.
•Successfully meets or exceeds CSMC competency testing requirements for CMAs.
•Basic Life Support (CPR)
•Preferred during employment: passes CSMC qualifying examination in order to function as an interpreter.
•Preferred during employment, if not certified at time of hire:
Certified by one of the following agencies approved by the Medical Board of California:
- Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Credential: Certified Medical Assistant

•Minimum two (2) years experience in a healthcare, insurance or related experience required.
•Previous work experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting or physician’s office, preferred.
•Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for interacting with patients, payers, physicians and other CSHS customers.
•Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or a comparable system (specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills). Must additionally posses a working knowledge of basic word processing, E-mail browsers and on-line internet access.
•Knowledge and understanding of the organization, functions, policies and procedures of the outpatient physician clinic, and the relationship with the larger Cedars-Sinai Health System, and the ability to apply the knowledge to the work of the office.
•Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short time-lines, to prioritize and organize work, and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.
•Demonstrated ability to work well as a team player and independently.
•English language proficiency. Bi-lingual preferred/helpful.
Demonstrates an understanding of technical knowledge in the effective use of computer support programs, electronic medical records and other aids for productivity.
