Cedars-Sinai BMET II in Los Angeles, California

Performs preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment. Troubleshoots both analog and digital electronic circuits to component level under minimum supervision; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation as required by department manager.

Educational Requirements:

•Associate of Science Degree in Electronic/Biomedical Electronics or related field; a combination of experience and education is acceptable. Prefer B.S. degree in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering.

•C.B.E.T. certification; or specialty biomedical skill such as Imaging or Anesthesia equipment.

Licenses/Certifications:

•C.B.E.T. certification; or specialty biomedical skill such as Imaging or Anesthesia equipment preferred.

Experience:

•Two (2) years experience as biomedical electronics technician and familiarity with a wide range of patient care and/or laboratory equipment.

•Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

•Considerable walking and some moderate lifting, pushing, bending required. Good hand/eye coordination for delicate electronic repairs.
