The Assistant Manager conducts Supply Chain process improvement activities and projects using appropriate tools and techniques. Works directly with other employees and departments to implement process improvement and transformation within Supply Chain to help build and design workload statistics for Central Issues, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVS), and Receiving. Assists in planning and implementation of processes the maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of all functionalities within Supply Chain operations. Ensures that all departmental products and services are provided in a timely manner and cost effective manner in accordance with hospital needs, expectations, and policy.

Qualification Requirements/Preferences:

Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent education. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Lean management or process improvement experience desired.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:



Minimum three (3) years of Supply Chain experience which includes extensive knowledge of hospital systems, medical/surgical supplies or a comparable level of education and experience with emphasis on lean management or process improvement background. Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills are necessary as the incumbent will be coordinating several projects simultaneously and working closely with the Department Managers and all levels of staff. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service. Ability to research, compile, and analyze financial reports. Computer literacy to include the use of the electronic correspondence, word processing, and spreadsheets. Current knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, and Title XXII regulations as they pertain to Supply Chain Management.

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)

Ability to move throughout all areas of the immediate and adjacent Medical Center and Health System Campus. Must be able to sit and perform data entry or work at a computer for long periods of time. Must be able to work within limited space and focus on complete work with multiple activities occurring and varying levels. Occasionally lift and transport up to 40 lbs.
