Our Cedars-Sinai Spine Center provides the latest spine expertise, treatment and research with a comprehensive team dedicated to treating back pain and spinal conditions. Our spine specialists focus on the care of patients with neck and back problems. Services include evaluation and management of surgical and non-surgical patients with spinal disorders and other orthopaedic conditions, trigger point injections, soft tissue and joint injections, and imaging services.
We are seeking a dynamic Associate Director who will be responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations of assigned areas, in order to meet the needs of all customers and support of Medical Center philosophies. You will assume fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, serves as liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes the maximum growth and development of each employee, supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term, and assures patient advocacy. You will be accountable to the Executive Director. Will guide staff in meeting customer's needs consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan and The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, The Performance Improvement Plan and Professional Organization Standards. Will maintain competency skills including the ability to interact with customers with diverse cultural backgrounds.Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited University required
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited University strongly preferred
Equivalent skills, education and experience
Our highly qualified candidate will bring the following skills and experience:
Five (5) years of management and oversight experience in a clinical operation setting working in a collaborative and supportive fashion with physicians, nursing, staff and other departments.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare experience with three (3) years related experience in a clinical operational setting strongly preferred.
Ability to promote effective collaboration and teamwork among individuals of multiple disciplines and across organizational boundaries; as well as ability to quickly develop and maintain productive relationships with team members and work with staff at the highest levels of the hospital.
Fiscal management skills to prepare, monitor and control budgets, reduce expenses and generate increased revenues.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of regulatory, reimbursement, legal and policy issues as they relate to effective area management.
Knowledge of the principles of CQI and ability to apply these principles including PDSA to improve unit work.
Ability to project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.
Able to adhere to established Hospital, State, and Federal confidentiality policies.
Demonstrated management experience in the healthcare and research environments.
Proven ability to lead and manage people including selecting, developing, motivating and retaining people who meet unit objectives.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills to write business communications, make groups presentations, and effectively impart information at staff meetings.
Extensive knowledge and skills using PC/Macintosh applications, especially spreadsheet, online analytic processing tools, and statistical functions.
