Cedars-Sinai Associate Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services in Los Angeles, California

Job Posting: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is an 886-bed acute, level 1 tertiary care teaching hospital located in the heart of Los Angeles, just a block away from Beverly Hills. The Pharmacy Department has over 380 staff members who provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services as well as outpatient services via 2 cancer centers and 4 outpatient pharmacies pharmacy services. The Department has accredited residencies in pharmacy practice and health-system pharmacy management and is affiliated with schools of pharmacy in California. Associate Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services Summary of Essential Job Duties:

•Retail pharmacy operations for 3 licensed pharmacies and associated licensed clinics . Retail pharmacists consist of 1 large outpatient pharmacy (400-500 prescriptions/day) and 2 smaller pharmacies

•Focus on pharmacy efficiency and customer service for discharge patients and outpatients Specialty Pharmacy services expansion and URAC accreditation Regulatory compliance including but not limited to CA State Board, DEA, The Joint Commission, CA Department of Health, CMS, Medi-Cal and Medicare Part B billing Third party/PBM contracting applications and compliance/negotiations Knowledge and oversight of 340B Program New outpatient pharmacy computer system evaluation and implementation Educational Requirements:

•Minimum of 3-5 years experience with hands-on operations with a focus on efficiency, safety and customer service.

•Knowledge of outpatient information systems and automation

•Experience in specialty pharmacy operations and knowledge of multiple dimensions of specialty pharmacy practice

•Experience with ambulatory pharmacy business operations

•Possesses entrepreneurial skills to grow ambulatory pharmacy services

•Human resources management experience

•Understanding of hospital environment including regulatory requirements

•Excellent interpersonal and team skills

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Able to deal with micro and macro issues related to ambulatory care operations

•Meticulous approach to work product with attention to detail

•Business analytics skills Physical Requirements (physical abilities essential to perform the job): ❑ Frequent standing; walking, bending; reaching, occasional sitting, pushing & pulling, lifting of materials up to 40 pounds for distances to 10 feet. ❑ Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms. ❑ Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers ❑ Able to read information on medication labels Work Environment: - Exposure to minimal but constant noise levels - Repetitive hand motions - Some functions may include incidental exposure to hazards associated with preparation of hazardous medications - Some functions may require use of personal protective equipment - Use of standard precautions for infection control
