The Enterprise Information Services (EIS) team at Cedars-Sinai understands that true clinical transformation and the optimization of a clinical information systems implementation is fueled through the alignment of the right people, processes and technologies. We are currently recruiting for an Epic Beacon Application Specialist. Summary: This position is responsible for serving as an Application Specialist for project implementation and support of Beacon and related clinical systems. The Application Specialist reports to Beacon/Willow Manager on work priorities and assignments as well as resolution and escalation of issues. The Application Specialist works closely with a variety other EIS teams to conduct high-quality, high-service planning/implementation and support of information systems for oncology users. This position applies high-level oncology-research clinical knowledge/project management ideology/methodology to develop, manage, and execute project plans. The Application Specialist is expected to have a high degree of technical and functional competency on Epic Beacon, as well as a thorough understanding of hospital/clinical operations in oncology/research areas. In this role, the Beacon Application Specialist will serve as a systems resource and consultant in the following activities, including but not limited to: developing user specifications, clinical operation workflows, complex application build/configuration, research protocol translation, testing, and implementation; participating with project teams and end-users to develop/recommend design options; providing project team support, end-user training, and application maintenance/problem–resolution. On-call support coverage is required.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational requirements and/or preferences:
·Bachelors or PharmD degree required or equivalent professional experience
·Strong motivation to maintain medication safety and strive for excellence
·2-4 years of Epic Beacon experience preferred.
·Technical and functional knowledge of assigned information systems required
·Strong operational experience in oncology and/or research workflows preferred
·Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management methodologies and system analysis
·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities
·Excellent interpersonal skills including superior oral and written communication
·Strong analytical and problem solving skills including tolerance for ambiguity
·Strong computer skills including Windows, Exchange/Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
·Epic Certification in Beacon or Research required.
