Cedars-Sinai Patient Service Representative, Internal Temporary Agency (Per Diem) in California

Agency Team. In this role, associates will transition throughout Cedars-Sinai

Medical Center to support departments with fulfilling temporary

vacancies. The associate will be deployed to various departments performing various duties. This is a Per Diem, non-benefited role. Assignments are typically Monday - Friday within regular business hours.

Job Summary:

Provides day-to-day

clinical support such as answering phone calls from

patients, scheduling patient appointments, prepping patient charts for clinic,

gathering clinical reports for doctor/coordinator review, data collection,

database entry.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists clinical support staff including but not limited to the day-to-day work responsibilities in the office and clinic. Schedules patientappointments, coordinates procedures/testing with outside departments and ancillary services, expert understandingof authorizations according to guidelines/workflows by providing requireddocumentation, monitors daily patient schedule, places reminder calls, andidentifies “no shows” for rescheduling.

  • Consistently answers telephones, takes complete and accurate messages, triage information and relays to appropriate party to support operational aspects of patient care.


  • High School Diploma or GED required.Bachelor's Degree or two years of college education with medical business office experience preferred.


  • Two (2) years experience in a medical office setting/scheduling of patients preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Handle multiple tasks frequently with short-time lines, prioritize and organize work, and complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of medical terminology.
