Summary of Essential Duties:
The Technical Manager has direct responsibility for the supervision of a Pathology and Laboratory Medicine division or program. In this capacity, the Technical Manager is responsible for the organization of work, supervision of employees, staff development, expense control, quality assurance, process improvement, and problem solving in the delivery of services and related programs within the division. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the developmental issues of the patient population(s) served.
Baccalaureate Degree in biological science, chemistry, or medical technology with ASCP or AAB Board of Registry certification in appropriate specialty
A Masters degree in a biological science, chemistry, or medical technology preferred
A valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility
ASCP or AAB Board of Registry certification in appropriate specialty
Five years of relevant clinical experience with at least three years in the area of specialty.
Some experience in supervision and teaching, as well as professional involvement such as membership on committees, publication of papers and presentation of conferences, desirable.
