Tell me about the role:

The Senior Consultant, Operations works as part of a

cross-functional team to enhance clinical efficiencies, promote appropriate and

high-value care, and prepare Cedars-Sinai to succeed with value-based contracts

and other payer initiatives. This full-time position is primarily responsible

for understanding existing workflows that impact current clinical practice and

ensuring that all solutions developed by Clinical Transformation are

successfully implemented and operationally sustainable. This role will also

lead best practices in project management for our largest initiatives. In this

role, you will:

  • Analyze currentoperational workflows to find opportunities to enhance clinicalefficiency, guideline adherence, and outcomes of care, as well as toreduce total costs of care.

  • Identify key operationalquestions that need to be answered to understand current performance andopportunities for future improvement. Support “translation” of thosequestions into appropriate analyses.

  • Collaborate with otherteam members to ensure integration of clinical, analytic, and operationalinsights in order to increase organizational knowledge

  • Support the communicationof the results of analyses to various stakeholders. Communication shouldbe clear and “fit for purpose” in order to addresses the questions andfindings most relevant to them.

  • Based on understanding ofworkflows and operational realities, ensure that all potentialinterventions and solutions can be successfully implemented and sustainedover time by operational staff

  • Develop detailedimplementation plans and support front-line staff in their implementationefforts. Account for all necessary resources (e.g., technology, time,people) to ensure successful implementation

  • Identify health systemchanges that may be needed to support appropriate evidence-based care

  • Interpret analyses ofoutcomes of interventions, including clinical, patient-centered,utilization, and financial outcomes and identify implications for futureoperational workflows

  • Provide project managementsupport for many large initiatives, including partnerships withclinical/operational leadership and/or payers. Seamless integration ofmany cross-functional workflows to achieve successful achievement of goalsto budget and timeline. Strong relationship development and single pointof communication to ensure efficiency and clarity.

  • Share operationaltakeaways and successful implementation techniques with other team membersin order to enhance team learning and cross-training and to further expandour program toolbox

  • Share best practices inproject and program management in order to enhance ability of all teammembers to effectively manage projects

  • Support and participate incollaborative brainstorming and problem-solving, working closely withother members of the Clinical Transformation Team as well ascross-functional staff from the Office of the CMO, Medical Network, andclinical and operational leadership and front-line staff.

Background We Are Seeking:


Bachelors Degree in health care, business, or technical

field required. Masters degree (MPH, MBA) or clinical degree highly preferred.


A minimum of 5 years' experience required, including at

least 3 years of prior work experience in a healthcare setting in one or both

of the following:

  • Experience in anoperational role

  • Experience successfullymanaging complex projects and/or programs
