Cedars-Sinai Patient Service Representative II - Breast Center in Beverly Hills, California

As a Patient Service Representative II (PSR II), following established practices policies, and guidelines, provides clerical and administrative support/duties in the licensed Breast Center clinic at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

These duties may



telephone calls for scheduling and

authorization of appointments for new patients and follow ups

•check out duties


verification functions


records preparation

•sorting and

distribution of mail and patient information

•applies a detailed

knowledge of the areas of assigned responsibility and has a general knowledge

of the ambulatory/ outpatient setting and it's relationship with the health


•ensures timely

completions of work assignments

This is a Full-Time

position, Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm. Please note certain clinic days may require a later start time of 9:30am.

Educational Requirements:

•High School Diploma Required

•Two years college with courses in business, accounting, computer operation and applications preferred.

•Medical Terminology coursework preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: N/A


•Minimum two (2) years experience in a healthcare, insurance or related experience required.

•Previous work experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting or physician's office preferred.

•Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for interacting with patients, payers, physicians and other CSHS customers.

•Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system (specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills). Must additionally posses a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation development, E-mail, browsers and on-line reporting.

•Knowledge and understanding of the organization, functions, policies and procedures of the Department, and the inter-relationship with the larger Cedars-Sinai Health System, and the ability to apply the knowledge to the work of the office.

•Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short time-lines, to prioritize and organize work, and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.

•Ability to interact effectively with Directors, Managers, patients, internal staff and representatives of public agencies and businesses.

•Demonstrated ability to work well as a team player and independently.

•English language proficiency. Bi-lingual helpful

•Have a comparable level of education, training and experience.

Physical Demands:

•May require constant sitting, walking and ability to use keyboard for extended periods of time.
