Job Posting: The Sr. Grant Accountant serves as department liaison to the Cedars-Sinai Health System through the PI and Financial Manager. This position is responsible for managing and communicating financial information to Cedars-Sinai's research community and General Accounting as well as external funding agencies. This positions reviews transactions/expenditures and financial documents for adherence to sponsor guidelines and institutional policies and procedures; conducts review, analysis, and interpretation of award terms and conditions; performs financial reporting, invoicing, A/R, journal entries, and provides guidance to assist principal investigators with administrative/fiscal compliance and management of awards. The Sr. Grant Accountant is typically assigned the most complex projects and is expected to research, plan and complete assignments with minimal guidance and supervision. The Sr. Grant Accountant is required to have working knowledge of federal grant management policies and regulations governing sponsored agreements, specifically the OMB Circulars; a high level expertise in the non-routine features and functions of the PeopleSoft Grant Accounting system; and is responsible for assisting the Manager of Post Award in administrative functions, problem solving and the smooth running of the Grant & Fund Accounting Office.

Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable level of education and experience

Experience:

•4-6 yrs of Accounting/Fund Accounting experience with strong reconciliation and analytical skills

•Prior Post Award Research Administration experience is required.

•Computer skills and experience, primarily in Microsoft Word and Excel

•Knowledge of PeopleSoft Grant Accounting Modules
