Job Posting: Summary of Essential Job Duties:

Health Systems Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting is responsible for developing and preparing on-going financial information packages, financial analysis as requested, coordination of the maintenance of systems supporting financial analysis and reporting, and preparation of income and expense statements for selected Health System programs and services.

Essential Job Duties:

-Development of financial performance standards and indicators for measuring profitability given costs, productivity and reimbursement factors.

-Work with clinical management in identifying and quantifying factors that affect financial performance at a service line level and Medical Center overall.

-Development and preparation of monthly/quarterly Management Financial Performance Packages for discussion with Executive Management.

-Serve as liaison/consultant to clinical management on all aspects of clinical financial performance and budget matters.

-Coordinate with EIS Department and Health System Managers, Cost Accounting and continuous integration of Cost Accounting and reimbursement profiles data into Cedars-Sinai Data Warehouse.

-Collaborate with other clinical/support managers and directors, service line and Health Systems managers, and directors' interpretation of Data Warehouse data.

-Preparation of quarterly and annual income and expense statements for selected programs/services

-Preparation of financial analysis for proposed, and existing programs/services including data gathering, testing for reasonableness and validity.

-Preparation of the quarterly and annual Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development report (OSPHD)

-Supervision and training of direct report staff in all administrative and departmental required guidelines, policies and procedures.

-Preparation of external surveys as requested by outside agencies.

-Other projects as assigned/requested

Educational Requirements:

Baccalaureate degree. Graduate Degree, MBA, MS in Accounting, Finance, or business administration. CPA preferred, or a comparable level of education or experience, preferably in a hospital environment.

Experience:

-Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, analytical abilities and communication skills.

-Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis preferable in a health care academic and research environment.

-Extensive knowledge and use of personal computers, computerized spreadsheet programs, such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint and financial modeling.

-Demonstrated personnel management and problem solving skills.

-Knowledge and understanding of the trends and forces shaping the healthcare delivery system, the provision of care and other emerging issues in healthcare management.

-Demonstrated flexibility and initiative to effectively effect change efforts to respond to environmental or organizational changes.

-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies.
